Though time has passed, the pain remains afresh,

Like thorns piercing through delicate petals,

The echoes of that day, an eerie mesh,

Tragedy etched in our hearts like metals.

…

Our Muslim siblings, like flowers in bloom,

Trampled by the hatred’s relentless storm,

Their innocence, a fragrant, sweet perfume,

Lost to hateful violence, cold and deformed.

…

Australia, our nation of diverse hues,

Where bigotry has no place to roam free,

Let us build a future where love imbues,

Sanctuary for all, a jubilee.

…

On this fifth anniversary, lets swear,

To stand against the darkness, to repair.
