A 27-year-old Bosnian Muslim immigrant was named the new Swedish minister of education last month, setting a role model for young, active Muslims who can reach the top in Western democracies.

Born in 1987 in Bosnia, Aida Hadzialic, the Swedish politician is now the youngest person ever to serve as a minister in Sweden.

Hadzialic was five years old when her family fled from war in Bosnia-Herzegovina. A law graduate from the University of Lund, Hadzialic became the deputy mayor of the Swedish city Halmstad at the age of 23.
