In the Name of Allah The Beneficent The Merciful
Long long ago, people lived healthily around the world without any dependency on electricity or internet. They grew their own food, cohabited in harmony, developed their own literacy and numeracy skills, displayed the talent of balancing an equilibrium with the ecosystem by incorporating tribal rules and enhancing routes of trade. Even though their average lifespan was shorter yet they ate organic foods, resisted all the ups and downs of life with patience and perseverance. They farewelled every passing day with an ode for a better future for their offspring and a balanced governance based on truth, honesty and justice but not that is merely run with unwritten rules stemming from golden rules “haste maketh waste; greed & hatred destroys well-being.” The zeal to talk to Stars, touch the birds wings on horizons, sail on Sand dunes were rejuvenation of an expedition while the spirit to upkeep honesty beyond the vision of horizon was seldom distorted by a malice illusion. A collective conscience was formed using bargain or barter system with a mutual conscience of strengthening the bonds of humanity.
The journey of a lifetime begun with turning & twisting in the Cradle, crawling over short distances, learning to hold object and stand, trying to walk by balancing body weight and raising feet in the right direction. In fact the development of brain starts after birth and continues through adolescence; a preparation for a celebration that is sometimes marred with new born Jaundice or other disorders and at other times charred with self-inflicted attrocities, degenerative diseases caused due to unhealthy lifestyle filled with filthy habits & diet or occasionally for drifting away from the flora & fauna. These are often witnessed as transitioning from the mother nature’s lap to the isolated concrete jungle infesting climate change and neuro diseases as the side effects of the innovations in the aftermath of the industrial revolution. The propulsion to communicate is often necessity-based based which originates with the use of body language. A transition from the non-verbal articulation to a selective lingua franca in the mother’s lap that is the first school to the deathbed. This charity that begins at home is rarely reciprocated to others voluntarily, despite social responsibility. Cognitive impairment can happen to anybody as a result of ageing, which is at times irreversible resulting in detrimental consequences of uncontrolled nerves.
Youth is the hope of every state; their health & wellbeing are of primary importance. Unfortunately, the rendezvous of youth with social media has surpassed the obsession and reached the level of addiction that is nothing but a frugal flair with virtuality. The absence of ergonomics and the heightened inclination to the screen has brought forth vision ailments like Myopia, Carpel syndrome combined with psychosocial hazards endangering lives that are supposed to be blossoming in the flora and fauna, flirting with the lingua franca.
Hence, the duty of care of youth begins with practising self-care, welfare and sharing between the haves & have-nots, neutralizing the wish list and wishful thinking.
