Richmond Masjid has now been acquired and established by IFAM with its first prayer held on Saturday 5 August 2023 with the local community members and families from all around Sydney and Canberra joining for the inaugural historical event.
Local Muslim families showed great enthusiasm and gratitude for having a mosque in their area after the purchase of the unused church by IFAM after a highly successful fundraising campaign during a short time.
The new masjid would also serve the purpose of being able to offer their Islamic duties and rituals in a convenient and diligent way, playing important spiritual and moral roles not only in their own lives but also in the lives of generations to come.
At this point, IFAM president Mr Rais Khan marked this event as a great blessing of Allah and showed his gratitude and thankfulness to Almighty while asking everyone to pray for this mosque to play a vital role in people’s lives and bring them all bounties of a Muslim’s place of worship.
A large number of Muslim families had gathered and offered the Dhuhr prayer (Mid-day prayer), marking the first official prayer which was led by Hafiz Sami Ullah Hussaini followed by a special dua by Mr Usaid Khalil, Secretary General of IFAM, for Allah to shower His blessings on this place and accept the efforts of all those who had participated and contributed to making this settlement possible.
At the conclusion of the program, all attendees were served sweets and cold drinks enjoying the moment in a cheerful way.
