Leaders from 38 civil society organisations, unions, and faith groups within the Sydney Alliance gathered on Wednesday 30 October at Bowman Hall, Blacktown, for a landmark Convention joined by representatives from both State and Federal governments. The event highlighted the Alliance’s collective commitment to advancing critical issues in housing, energy, and climate action.

The Convention celebrated recent advocacy successes with the State government, featured powerful personal stories, and reinforced the Alliance’s priorities leading up to the Federal pre-election Assembly.
Leaders engaged directly with four elected officials and staff from six additional offices, laying a strong foundation for future discussions on election commitments and building relationships with trusted decision-makers.
This Convention marks a crucial step toward the Sydney Alliance’s 2025 Assembly, solidifying momentum for community-driven progress at the federal level.
“As a Muslim organiser with the Sydney Alliance, I am proud to see Muslim organisations, such as Muhajirin, joining the Alliance’s campaigns for the common good,” said AbdalNasser Abumustafa. “This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive community.”
