Ramadan & beyond initiative was born to nurture the tradition of Ramadan bazaars that take place every year in the western suburbs of Sydney. However, this market is very different and has a purpose greater than shopping.

The market is going to be held on Saturday 28 April 2018 in the inner west suburb of Burwood to cater for the Muslims living outside of the west in a historic property Woodstock on Church Street.

The venue is adjacent to a park with playground making the market family friendly and allowing families to enjoy the park while mothers attend to their shopping needs.

All vendors are curated by the event organiser to ensure individuality, creativity and quality; all businesses are run by sisters working from home supplementing their family incomes.

Traditionally, bazaars were known for the abundance of craftsmanship and the idea of Ramadan & Beyond initiative is to revive that tradition.

We have an embroidery hoop artist, calligrapher, makers of soy candles, soaps, bath products, tasbeeh & jewelry, as well as a prayer gowns and jilbabs seamstress.

The market also welcomes vendors of high-end modest fashion, Islamic books & stationery, baby and religious gift hampers and other Muslim lifestyle products. We aim for the businesses to feel as they are supported and are part of the sisterhood business community.

The market is also unique as it includes a morning tea for ladies-only where sisters can learn from fellow Muslim professionals on the topics of skin care and nutrition during Ramadan, enjoy a daff performance, and be acquainted with the new charity initiative The Hijab Collective that collects pre-loved modest clothes and hijabs and distributes to women in need.

The event will aim to raise money to assist with the running costs of The Hijab Collective so more women can be reached in sha Allah. To get more information about this initiative or to discuss collaborations, please email [email protected]
