ICMG Youth Sydney successfully hosted its 8th annual Hasene Cup Soccer Tournament at the Wanderers Fives Football Park, Rooty Hill, on Sunday 17 August.
The much-anticipated event brought together teams from across the community for a day of spirited competition, camaraderie and charity.
This year’s Hasene Cup focused on a special cause: raising funds for Hasene Australia’s Orphanage Project, with all proceeds raised ($6,100) going directly to support orphans in Vietnam.
Traditionally, the tournament’s proceeds are directed toward Qurban; however, due to a weather-related postponement and the conclusion of Qurban for this year, the funds have been redirected to this vital project in Vietnam.
The tournament was a resounding success, thanks to the tireless efforts of the volunteers, the enthusiasm of the participating teams, and the generosity of sponsors.
The event’s supporters, including Irfan College, Honeycube Australia, Crescent Guard, Guildford Spares and Sydney Four Seasons (SFS) Landscaping, were instrumental in making the day possible.

As if the case every year, the 2025 Hasene Cup was a day of spirited competition, camaraderie and charity.
Their ongoing assistance exemplifies the spirit of giving and community partnership that defines the Hasene Cup.
Yunus Sula, now in his second year as Hasene Sydney Youth President, was one of the driving forces behind this year’s tournament.
Reflecting on the day, Mr Sula told AMUST, “Seeing people come together for a good cause reminds us of the strength and unity in our community.”
“The success of this year’s Hasene Cup is about making a real difference in the lives of orphans in Vietnam.”
“We are extremely grateful for everyone’s contributions and proud to be part of a project that gives back in such a meaningful way, and has done so for many years.”

One ummah, one goal.
The highlight of the tournament was the crowning of Dropkick FC as the 2025 Hasene Cup Champions (main photo).
The excitement and friendly competition throughout the day set the tone for what organisers hope will be an even bigger event next year.
ICMG, the organisation behind the event, is dedicated to representing Muslims in all areas of society, ensuring their rights are protected and their voices heard.
Guided by the Quran and Sunnah, ICMG believes in the moral responsibility of giving back, supporting the needy and promoting good within the wider community.
Hasene, as ICMG’s global charity arm, channels these values into tangible action, supporting projects that support and therefore uplift the most vulnerable in the community.
