Following the overwhelming success of last year’s inaugural event, the second annual Lebanese Muslim Association/Feed the World Golf Day has been confirmed for Saturday, 13 December at the Brighton Lakes Golf Course in Moorebank.

The history-making 2024 event was Australia’s first ever Muslim golf tournament, attracting 80 players and bringing in an extraordinary $150,000 for vulnerable communities overseas, including in Gaza.

The day showcased the community’s generosity, unity and enthusiasm for new, purposeful initiatives.

Organisers are confident of building on last year’s momentum, aiming for 120 players in 2025.

The golf will be followed immediately by a short reception at the course, which will include presentations to the winning teams and a streamlined fundraiser in support of Feed the World’s growing aid work.

Open to males aged 16 and over and offering some amazing prizes to the successful golfers, the tournament will again follow the popular 4-Ball Ambrose format, with tee-off scheduled after Dhuhr, which will be prayed on the greens as was the case in 2024.

The 4-Ball Ambrose event will raise valuable funds for Feed The World.

Individual players are also welcome to enter the event, as the organisers will place you in a team.

The standard of play in 2024 was exceptional and the decision has been taken to change the eligibility slightly to males aged 16 and over for this year’s event, in the hope of attracting some skilful younger players.

The LMA extends special thanks to the Brighton Lakes Golf Club for their ongoing co-operation and for providing a welcoming, inclusive environment for the Muslim community.

“The success of our first Golf Day was way beyond our expectations,” said LMA Religious and Events Administrator Salim Allouche.

“We look forward to bringing our community together again on Saturday, 13 December for another memorable day that will help Feed the World continue its vital work overseas.”

The tournament will commence immediately following Dhuhur prayer.

Community members, businesses and supporters are encouraged to get involved — by playing and/or sponsoring.

Further details regarding player registration and sponsorship opportunities are available through the LMA’s official platforms.

Salaam Superannuation founder Talal Yassine AM (centre) was a strong supporter of last year’s event.
