On Friday 15 August 2025 night at the CEO Sleepout, we shared a powerful message — this event is just a small glimpse into what our homeless brothers and sisters endure every single night.

We reminded everyone to keep our brothers and sisters in Palestine, along with countless others around the world enduring atrocities and hardship, in our thoughts, prayers, and actions, Insha’Allah.

The Mayor’s Sleep Out is more than just an event — it is a powerful reminder of the harsh reality faced by those experiencing homelessness and disadvantage in our community. For one night, participants slept outside to better understand, in a small way, the struggles that many endure every single day.

Our total goal was to raise $35,000. We raised $38,583 as of 21 August.

This initiative is not simply about raising funds; it is about raising compassion, awareness, and collective responsibility.

The money raised goes directly towards providing shelter, food, and essential support services for individuals and families doing it tough. But beyond financial assistance, the Mayor’s Sleep Out sends a clear message: our community stands together with those who are too often overlooked.

When we come together for causes like this, we embody the values of empathy, dignity, and hope. Every dollar donated, every conversation shared, and every effort made contributes to breaking the cycle of hardship and creating pathways to a brighter future.

A heartfelt thank you to Mayor Bilal El-Hayek for organising this impactful initiative, and to all the volunteers, team members, and organisations who braved the cold, wet, and rainy evening in Belmore to stand in solidarity with those in need.

We’re still working towards our fundraising goal to continue supporting vulnerable communities locally and globally. Every contribution makes a difference. Together, we can help bring hope, dignity, and relief to those who need it most.
