On a crisp Sunday morning on Sunday 17 May 2026, while much of Sydney was still waking up, a small group of men quietly gathered at Dar-ul-Islam, Bonnyrigg, lacing up their walking shoes for the second instalment of Sole Mates—Seena Inc’s growing initiative to promote men’s wellbeing through companionship, movement and meaningful conversation.

Around ten participants took part in what has become much more than a morning stroll. It was an opportunity to slow down in a world that constantly urges people to speed up.

The beauty of walking is that it asks for very little. No expensive equipment, no sporting ability and certainly no competition. Just a willingness to place one foot in front of the other and perhaps, somewhere along the way, open up to the person walking beside you.

The morning began with participants setting off along the peaceful walking tracks along Green Valley Creek and making a round of Chisholm Park, sharing stories, exchanging light-hearted banter and enjoying the calm that only fresh air and good company can provide.

Following the walk, everyone gathered for a hearty breakfast generously hosted by Seena Inc, whose warm hospitality once again transformed a simple meal into an extension of the community spirit that Sole Mates seeks to foster.

But this gathering had another important dimension.

Recognising that wellbeing today extends beyond physical fitness, organisers invited participants to attend an informative talk on cybersecurity and personal digital safety.

The session explored the growing relationship between digital vulnerability and mental wellbeing, highlighting how online scams, identity theft, misinformation and constant digital exposure can create anxiety and unnecessary stress.

Practical advice was shared on protecting personal information, strengthening passwords, recognising online threats and managing one’s digital footprint with greater confidence and peace of mind.

The discussion resonated strongly with attendees, many of whom appreciated the timely reminders and practical strategies they could immediately apply in their daily lives. In an era where our phones often know more about us than our closest friends, safeguarding our digital lives has become an essential part of safeguarding our peace of mind.

The event reflected Seena Inc’s holistic approach to wellbeing—recognising that health is not only about physical movement, but also about emotional resilience, social connection and feeling secure in an increasingly digital world.

The inaugural Sole Mates walk in September 2025 demonstrated the appetite for a dedicated men’s wellbeing initiative. This second gathering has further strengthened that vision, proving that meaningful conversations often begin with something as simple as walking side by side.

Seena Inc plans to continue hosting Sole Mates events throughout the year with additional activities and themes designed to support men’s physical, mental and social wellbeing.

As participants departed after breakfast, they carried with them more than just the benefits of exercise. They left with new friendships, practical knowledge and the comforting reminder that sometimes the best way to clear the mind is simply to take a walk together.
