The 9th Annual Hasene Cup Soccer Tournament was held on Sunday 17 May at the Wanderers Fives football venue at Rooty Hill, with ICMG Youth Sydney once again delivering a day that seamlessly blended competitive sport, community spirit and charitable purpose.

Now firmly established on the Sydney Muslim community’s sporting calendar, the Hasene Cup continues to grow in both participation and reputation.

Teams from across the community took to the field in what proved to be another memorable edition of the tournament, with the football matched in quality only by the atmosphere surrounding it.

Hasene Sydney vice president Tarik Yalcinkaya was full of praise for all involved.

“Alhamdulillah, the 9th Annual Hasene Cup was a huge success,” he told AMUST.

“The football was brilliant, but it was the spirit of the people that made the event truly unforgettable.”

“A big thank you to all the teams, volunteers, organisers, sponsors and everyone who attended and supported the event.”

“May Allah reward every person who contributed towards making the day memorable.”

Hasene, the global charity arm of ICMG, channels community generosity into tangible humanitarian outcomes both locally and internationally.

As is tradition with the Hasene Cup, the event served a purpose well beyond the scoreline, with proceeds directed toward Hasene Australia’s Qurban fundraising efforts.

The Hasene Cup always attracts an impressive number of entrants.

As referenced earlier, the success of the day would not have been possible without the generous support of sponsors, with Mr Yalcinkaya extending special thanks to Honeycube Australia, Irfan College, Guildford Spares, Crescent Guard and SFS Landscaping.

“Please support the businesses that continue to support our community events,” he said.

With each passing year, the Hasene Cup reinforces what ICMG and Hasene do best – bringing people together for a good cause.

The Hasene Cup has a number of regular and loyal sponsors. Support those who support your community!
