What took you so long world?

Where were you world?

What took you so long?

To find and finally accept us

What was the need for all the fuss?

All that was nice is wiped out now

Everyone we knew is finally gone

Places we went are not to be found

Melodies of our land- a forgotten song

No colours of sunshine, not a bird song

The hues of our blue skies now totally wrong

We are now left a mere desolate throng

What were you waiting to recognise?

There’s now nothing left to acclimatise

Playgrounds hospitals none to recognise

Food water medicines nowhere to socialise

Cleaners doctors nurses nothing to sterilise

Schools students teachers none left to harmonise

Electricity infrastructure nothing left to utilise

Animals schools centre city- all just immaterialise

Sickness dirt famine comes marching along

With whom were you world, hanging around?

To our dear motherland we are bound

To what sort of shackles are you so bound

Tanks and destruction all around

Desolate and scrambling we look around

Civilised world, where will you be found?

Selling ammunition or making a pound

Loyalty to allies

Hiding behind lies

Killing kids, just like crushing butterflies

What were your ties?

Excuses or lies

Face up to your highs

Who are your allies?

Shouldn’t have been that hard to call it genocide

Just admit it, you are scared as mice!

No food water, not a grain of rice

You must be complicit with all your lies

Shame you have so much to hide

What mighty horse do you choose to ride?

Shame you have this insensitive stride

Your time has come to turn the tide

End has come to your greedy ride

You can run but you cannot hide
