ARO Melbourne ladies team hosted a heartwarming Eid lunch on Sunday 22 June 2025 at Serenity Reception in partnership with the Australian Multicultural Community Centre joined by more than 20 Palestinian refugee families.

The event was filled with smiles, laughter, and colour with balloons, face painting, henna, gift bags and stem boxes for the children, and flowers for the ladies. Clothes, stationery supplies, and shopping vouchers were also distributed to support these families as they rebuild their lives.

A huge thank you to our passionate volunteers who made this beautiful day possible!

Qurban Aid by Australian Relief Organisation in Asia, Africa, the Pacific, and Australia (for Palestinians)

As part of the 2025 Eid al-Adha, the Australian Relief Organisation (ARO) reached large communities through its humanitarian efforts at both international and local levels.
Qurban meat was distributed to 22,700 families across 11 countries in Asia, Africa, and the Pacific. These distributions supported orphans, students, and individuals facing financial hardship.
The sacrificial animals were carefully selected in accordance with veterinary checks and health standards. Slaughtering was carried out in hygienic and safe conditions, respecting the spiritual significance of the Qurban ritual.
In several countries, ARO volunteers took part in the slaughter and distribution processes directly on the ground. The aid was delivered in coordination with local authorities to those in greatest need.
Within Australia, Qurban meat packages and Eid gifts were delivered to 19 Palestinian families living in Melbourne and Sydney. This meaningful initiative allowed the families to experience the joy of Eid and feel that they are not alone.
The meat distribution was carried out by ARO’s dedicated volunteers.
We sincerely thank GAP (Gaza Australian Program) and PARA (Palestine Australia Relief and Action) for their support in coordinating the meat distribution, and Chooks on Brady for sponsoring the lunch.
ARO’s Qurban campaign, supported with growing trust each year, was once again successfully completed in line with the principles of transparency, reliability, and humanitarian sensitivity.
