When I was a young man, my greatest fear about getting married was that I would not be happy in my marriage.
Then, surprisingly, I discovered soon that I was not alone. Many young Muslims had the same fear as I had.
Is it natural or too bad? Who knows how many young Muslims out there are asking the same question!
Then, I got married in 1994 with a fine Muslimah! Alhamdulillah! From the first day, she and I agreed to invest our time to find ways to be happy in our marriage.
We spent thousands of hours in talking, sharing ideas, correcting one another, appreciating each other, and learning everyday about how to be happy in our marriage.
We never slowed down in our endeavour, and by Allah’s Mercy, we were very happy until the day she was martyred on Friday 15 March 2019 shooting in An-Nur Masjid, Christchurch.
May Allah grant her and other shuhadaa everlasting happiness in Paradise, Ameen!
Then, I have been serving voluntarily as an Independent Marriage Celebrant for over a decade to gift my service to the happiness of newly married couples with some advice.
Over time, I had the privilege to hear diverse situations from couples, and to offer some advice to find happiness in their marriages. They taught me a lot.
My marriage and lessons from others hooked me into the hobby to study more and to share my learning with others. I began writing my thoughts, and it ended up as a book.
My book is called, “Happiness in Islamic marriage,” and it is available on the Voice of Islam website.
I believe that so many tips with explanation would benefit many like me. I cordially invite you to read my book. I hope, in this book, learners, teachers, speakers, married couples, or unmarried young people, all should have a bargain in it, Insha Allah!
I have written it for Allah’s pleasure, and may Allah accept my service for Him. Ameen! If you like it, please pass it around.
