A sense of renewal and inspiration filled the air as Seena Incorporated hosted a Wellbeing Workshop in Sydney for women on Saturday 16 November 2024 at Dar-ul-Islam in Bonnyrigg. Intimate and inspiring, the event brought together more than 10 women for an enriching morning of self-care, connection, and reflection.
The workshop began with a warm welcome and refreshments provided by Ja’dore Kitchen, featuring wraps, kibbeh, a charcuterie platter, and sparkling mocktails. The cozy setting encouraged the attendees to socialise and relax, setting the tone for a meaningful day ahead.

Mrs Mehar Ahmad, President of Seena Inc, opened the session with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha and a heartfelt welcome. She introduced Seena Inc’s mission, highlighting their “Mind, Body & Soul” events that have been empowering women for four years. Stressing the importance of self-care, she reminded everyone that prioritising their own wellbeing enables them to care better for others.

The workshop was facilitated by Princess R Lakshman, owner of Mind Body Healing Hub. A degree-qualified clinical nutritionist, life coach, counsellor, and narrative therapist, Princess is known for her engaging and interactive approach to wellness.
She began with an inspiring talk on the importance of self-care for mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health, sharing her personal journey and the story of her conversion to Islam. Her authenticity and warmth immediately resonated with the attendees.
Adding a touch of fun, Princess invited the attendees to introduce themselves, replacing applause with bubbles, which filled the room with laughter and smiles. The light-hearted introductions eased the group into deeper activities designed to foster self-awareness and mindfulness.

One of the key exercises focused on self-awareness.
Princess asked the women three reflective questions: “What do you want? What do you not want? What will you do next to help achieve this, no matter how small?” For some, these questions were challenging and thought-provoking, but the exercise encouraged participants to identify their needs and take steps toward personal growth.
The next activity was a mindfulness practice using a piece of chocolate. Attendees were guided to appreciate its appearance, texture, and aroma before slowly unwrapping and savouring it. This exercise emphasised the importance of slowing down to fully experience and enjoy life’s simple pleasures, leaving participants with a renewed sense of gratitude and presence.
To conclude the workshop on a joyful note, Princess led a session on laughter therapy. The group’s shared laughter created a sense of unity and light-heartedness, perfectly rounding off a day dedicated to wellbeing.
Seena Inc expressed their gratitude for Princess’s engaging facilitation and commitment to their mission. Attendees echoed this sentiment, sharing their appreciation for the workshop’s impact and requesting more events like this in the future.
Seena Inc remains committed to creating spaces where women can prioritise their wellness, find inspiration, and connect with one another.
