Creativity, connection, and a splash of colour came together at Seena Incorporated’s first-ever Canvas & Colours Paint and Sip evening.
Held in Sydney on Friday 22 November 2024, at Dar-ul-Islam in Bonnyrigg, the event welcomed over 20 women for a night of artistic expression and relaxation.
Guided by the talented self-taught artist Mariam Rababe from Mirror Cool Art, participants embarked on a journey of artistic expression.
Each attendee, equipped with their own easel, canvas, and art supplies, painted a serene landscape of a vibrant sunset sky, featuring a blossoming pink and purple tree set in a lush green field dotted with flowers.

Adding to the charm, Mariam herself joined in, painting the design for the first time alongside the participants. She shared insights into how art can be a therapeutic outlet to calm the mind and nurture wellbeing.
Mrs Mehar Ahmad, President of Seena Inc, opened the event by highlighting the organisation’s projects in supporting women’s health and wellbeing through various initiatives.

For many attendees, this was their first experience with painting.
One participant admitted, “I’ve never painted before – not even at school,” but Mariam’s warm encouragement helped her and others confidently embrace the process.
The inclusive and supportive atmosphere made the event enjoyable for everyone, regardless of skill level.
Throughout the evening, participants indulged in a delightful spread prepared by Ja’dore Kitchen, featuring sambousek, kibbeh, wraps, fresh fruit, and sparkling mocktails with gentle melodies of nasheeds played in the background.

As the women followed Mariam’s guidance, some chose to add their own flair to the painting, experimenting with colours like sunny yellows and rich autumn reds. Laughter and lighthearted conversation filled the room as attendees shared their progress and admired each other’s creativity.
The event’s success was reflected in the attendees’ feedback. One participant shared on Instagram, “Thanks for a lovely and fun night. We really enjoyed it. Mariam was so supportive and engaging.”
At the end of the evening, everyone proudly took home their unique works of art as a memento of the experience.
Seena Inc’s first Paint and Sip night proved to be a heartwarming blend of artistry and community spirit and they aim to make this a regular event in the future.
