Logan’s Kingston Butter Factory Cultural Precinct was ablaze with colors, aromas, and laughter on Sunday 14 April 2024 as the community came together for the eagerly anticipated EID FOR ALL 2024 event.

Hosted by Multicultural Mailer Inc, this public celebration of global multiculturalism transcended expectations, welcoming nearly 5000 attendees from all corners of Logan and beyond in southern Queensland.

Embracing cultural diversity
From the moment the event commenced at midday, the air was filled with excitement and anticipation.
The Master of Ceremonies set the stage for a day filled with celebration and cultural exchange, emphasising the importance of embracing diversity and fostering unity within the community.

Spiritual reflections and traditional ceremonies

Attendees were treated to a diverse array of experiences, ranging from spiritual reflections to traditional ceremonies honouring Australia’s Indigenous heritage.

The event commenced with a soulful Quran recitation by Mohammad Habibullah, followed by a Welcome to Country ceremony featuring a Smoking Ceremony and Didgeridoo performance by Jahmarley Brown Dawson, paying homage to the land and its traditional custodians.

Educational insights and cultural showcases:

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of different cultures through educational sessions and cultural showcases.

Travis Windsor’s presentation on “What is Eid?” provided valuable insights into the significance of the Islamic celebration, while Zainuddin’s stall offered a glimpse into the rich heritage and craftsmanship of various cultures through artisanal crafts and artefacts.

Engaging activities for all ages:

From thrilling competitions to captivating performances, there was something for everyone at EID FOR ALL 2024.

Children delighted in the Kid’s Colouring Competition and were mesmerised by the Bubble Show courtesy of Carrisa from Bubblelicious Creations. Meanwhile, adrenaline enthusiasts showcased their skills in the Chilli Eating Competition and cheered on wrestlers and judo practitioners during exhilarating demonstrations.

Culinary delights and gastronomic adventures
The event was a feast for the senses, with a multitude of stalls offering tantalising culinary delights from around the world.

Attendees savoured  Gozleme from the truck, indulged in aromatic Turkish Tea, and sampled exotic flavours at stalls serving up everything from Sharwama to Hotdogs.

For those with a sweet tooth, Snow Cones and Ice Cream provided a refreshing treat, while Curry in a Hurry satisfied cravings for spicy delights.

Celebrating community spirit and inclusivity
As the day drew to a close, attendees gathered for communal prayers and reflective moments, symbolising the unity and harmony that permeated the event.

Sponsor speeches and acknowledgments highlighted the collaborative efforts that made the celebration possible, while group photos captured the spirit of camaraderie and togetherness.

As dusk descended upon the Cultural Precinct, the sky erupted in a kaleidoscope of colors, signaling the grand finale of EID FOR ALL 2024.

The breathtaking fireworks display illuminated the night sky, serving as a poignant reminder of the shared joy and celebration of cultural diversity within the Logan community.

EID FOR ALL 2024 was more than just a festival; it was a testament to the power of unity in diversity. As attendees departed with hearts full of memories and spirits uplifted by the day’s festivities, the event served as a beacon of hope and inspiration for continued community engagement and celebration of cultural richness within Logan and beyond.
