Javed Ahmed Ghamidi successfully completed a 10-day trip to Australia in 2023.
The visit started with a meet and greet dinner in Sydney held on Friday 29 September and concluded with another meet and greet event in Brisbane on Saturday 7 October 2023. Both these events were fully sold-out events attended by hundreds of well-wishers of Mr Ghamidi.
Additionally, there was also a 3-day educational workshop held at Mercure Liverpool from Saturday 30 September to Monday 2 October 2023 which was attended by local as well as delegates from Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Darwin.
The main topic of the workshop was “progeny of Prophet Abrahim – in progression”.
One of the delegates termed the content of the workshop as “exceptionally unique” worthy enough to write a book.
In answering one of the questions on the key principles or guidance on parenting in general and more specific to western society, Ghamidi sahib described the following as the key principles:
- Live by the values and principles that you want your children to follow. Be a good role model to them in everything: servitude (ibadaat), morality (ikhlaqiat), people interaction etc.
- When they are nearing the age of maturity, then introduce religion as a subject (education – ilm) as opposed to imposing (order -hukum) on them.
- We are used to imposing religion on our children. This will no longer work. Introduce religion as a subject to them. When it is introduced as a subject, they will be able to arrive at a conclusion themselves about what is right and what is wrong. This may be done by parents themselves if they have the capacity and knowledge otherwise introduce them to scholars who will be able to guide them. It is no longer possible to control our children, no matter what part of the world we are in, as access to information has become very easy and fast.
