Honourable Mr Pontus Melander,

Assalamu alaikum – peace be with you. I trust this submission finds you and your esteemed colleagues healthy and well.

I am sure you are fully aware of the incidence of burning a copy of the holy Qur’an outside Stockholm’s central mosque on Wednesday, 28 June 2023 during the global celebration of the Eid ul Adha by Muslims to mark the annual pilgrimage, the Hajj in Makkah and sacrifice of Prophet Abraham (a).

Shockingly the Swedish Police allowed the promoter of hate to burn a copy of the holy Qur’an. No one should have been allowed to spread hate or deliberately hurt feelings of the people of a great faith in any civilised country and by any responsible Government.

You may know very well that the Qur’an highly reveres and frequently mentions name of great prophets of Judaism, Christianity and Islam such as Abraham(a), David (a), Moses (a) and Jesus (a), peace be upon all of them.

Anyone burns the Qur’an, burns these great prophets, knowingly or unknowingly. What a shame that a Jew or a Christian burns a book that highly speaks about his or her own prophet only to expose their ignorance and hate propagated by a section of anti-Islam media and western politicians!

This is kind of act of violence has nothing to do with freedom of speech/expression, rather it is a well planned criminal abuse of it seriously offending nearly one quarter of world population.

No one should make a mistake that burning a copy or all printed copies of the Qur’an will make the holy book disappear. Everyone must know that millions of Muslims memorise the whole Qur’an, letter by letter, this is a way Allah Himself promised to protect the holy book.

It is a nonsense to make futile acts like burning a copy of the book that is literally followed by millions of Muslims on a daily-basis and increasingly many highly educated western young and old people getting guidance from the divine book.

Those who wish to extinguish the light of Islam will never achieve anything other than exposing the vile intention of their criminal minds and ignorance.

Through you, I would like to relay to your Government in particular, and the western minds in general, the following anti-Islam activists and their journey to Islam.

First, I refer you to two far right male Deputies in Netherland Parliament, followers of Mr Geert Wilders who leads the Party for Freedom (PVV), Arnoud van Doorn who preached to burn the Qur’an and produced anti-Islam documentary ‘Fitna’ (watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEo5e5g1IVI ) and Joram van Klaveren who called the Qur’an ‘poison’ and was writing a book against Islam (watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXCMU72z0Ms ).

Then I relate the story of two brilliant English women, two British independent journalists. One of them is Ms Lauren Booth, a sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blaire, the man responsible for destroying Iraq with deliberately misleading the world with false dossier.

The other one is Ms Yvonne Ridley, a captive to Taleban after entering Afghanistan in disguise to collect intelligence (watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So_8tSlspHw ). Both women reverted to Islam setting aside their anti-Islam past after reading the Qur’an.

My request to the anti-Islam far right western activists and politicians is to study the Qur’an as done by many of them and found the light of guidance rather than being influenced by the half-baked falsehood and hate-propaganda.

Islam is the only religion who’s Prophet (s) said that if a Muslim wrongs a non-Muslim then the Prophet (s) will stand to Allah against the Muslim.

Please take it guaranteed that no Muslims will ever think of burning the Bible or the book of any other religions as it is strongly prohibited in the Qur’an.

Like it or not, we now live in a diverse world with many races, regions, languages and nations. Every civilised nation much embrace multiculturalism as a narrative to inclusion and derive strength from diversity in faith as countries like Australia and Canada have been doing.

I thank you for reading this submission and hope that you will be part of the world that unite people with dignity and respect, not divide people for narrow and short-term and selfish political gains.
