MESSAGE FROM THE PREMIER
I would like to send warm wishes to readers of Australasian Muslim Times embarking on the month-long journey of Ramadan.
Ramadan holds special significance in the lives of Muslim Australians. It is a time of spiritual reflection and asks members of the Islamic faith to fast between sunrise and sunset.
The focus and reflective nature of Ramadan supports our way of life and is a timely reminder of the values we all share, including kindness, honesty, family and charity.
The smallest of gestures can often promote the greatest understanding and acceptance of our religious differences. I would encourage all Muslims to invite people from all faiths to join them in breaking the fast in the evenings.
I’d like to wish everyone observing the holy month, Ramadan Mubarak.
