Nine years old girl in Christchurch had passed away from a sudden infection.
It happened so suddenly that left the community and medical professionals shocked. Her name is Roha, originated from the Arabic word ‘Ruh’ (Soul). Her departure has touched the souls of Bangladeshi community and many others for some special reasons.
One reason is that Roha was very well known for her active role in the work of compassion. She was one of the youngest members of the Unity in Diversity through Compassion team in Christchurch.
As a patron of this group, I have witnessed Roha’s enthusiasm in kindness and compassion and her dedication in compassionate activities was so vigilant that whoever knew her could not miss it.
In our yearly Unity in Diversity Dinner Event that attracts representatives from all over the world, Roha always has been an active participant since after the 15 March 2019 Massacre.
In her young age her dedication to kindness amazed our team and we feel sad for losing a future leader in the work of compassion.
We pray that many many children like Roha to be active in kind and compassionate actions to change this world for the better.
In this volatile chaotic world, we need more courageous, selfless and loving children who will be the role models for the humanity in future.
We are blessed as Muslims because we are guided to be balanced in our attitude. When we lose our loved ones, friends, other children and members of our Ummah, we cry but with happiness.
We cry for our love, but we feel happy knowing that our loved ones are with the mercy of Allah.
We never lose our people, but our people they shift from one destination to another, and we believe, to reach to the better destination after the death and they go under the best guardianship of Allah.
That’s why, after the death of our loved ones we say,
“To Allah we belong, and to Allah is our return.”(Al Quran 2:156)
