The great trees by the river
have grandeur and power;
they join with their companion, the spring,
to make the bees sing
with their boughs full of flowers.
The reedy calls of kingfishers
awaken us to delicate life
where rainbow hues fly and flash.
The great trees endure, still and tranquil,
monarchs of the river and fowl
of the air, their home and castle.
