AFIC President and RISEAP Vice-President Dr Rateb Jneid joined Muslim leaders from across Southeast Asia and the Pacific for several significant events in Fiji.

Accompanied by AFIC Secretary Mahabub Ali, former Australian Grand Mufti Imam Abdul Quddoos Al-Azhari and Mrs Manal Jneid, Dr Jneid addressed the Islamic Development Bank Oceania Regional Partnership Consultation and opened the RISEAP Conference 2026.

Discussions focused on education, leadership development, women’s empowerment, youth participation and stronger regional cooperation.

The delegation also attended the opening of the Sabeto Islamic Education and Vocational Training Centre, a Fiji Muslim League centenary project combining Islamic learning with practical skills.

Dr Jneid spoke at the National Milad-un-Nabi Celebration in Ba, reflecting on the Prophet Mohammed’s (s) example of compassion, mercy, service and unity.

He also attended the National Qur’an Special Awards, congratulating students, families and teachers dedicated to learning, memorising and living by the Qur’an’s teachings.
