Human Appeal Australia (HAA) concluded its highly anticipated The Eternal Message 2025 Tour finally in Sydney on Sunday 30 November, drawing thousands across six major cities for an unforgettable spiritual, cultural, and humanitarian experience.
The nationwide tour brought together world-renowned Qur’an reciters, international scholars, nasheed artists and dedicated fundraisers—while also celebrating 34 years of HAA’s extraordinary journey from a tiny office in 1991 to one of Australia’s largest Muslim humanitarian organisations.
The tour visited Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and Sydney, with grand venues including the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, Adelaide Convention Centre, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and Waterview in Sydney Olympic Park.
Audiences described the events as “spiritually uplifting”, “deeply emotional”, and “a night of generosity for the ummah”, as the program blended Qur’anic recitations, nasheed performances, reminders rooted in Qur’an and Sunnah, and compelling calls to support urgent global relief projects.
HAA curated a world-class line-up of international guests, each adding a unique dimension to the evening:
Qur’an Reciters
-
Shaykh Haithm Al-Dokhin (Yemen)
-
Shaykh Hazza Al-Balushi (Oman)
-
Shaykh Motasem Al-Asali (Syria)
Their recitations—described by audience members as “soul-stirring” and “transporting”—were the spiritual heart of the program.
Speakers & Scholars
-
Shaykh Alaa El-Sayed (Canada) — returning by popular demand
-
Dr Kenan Musić (Bosnia & Herzegovina) — senior scholar and educator
Their combined messages explored themes of faith, resilience, service, and the enduring guidance of the Qur’an and Sunnah, perfectly aligned with the tour’s title: The Eternal Message.
Bashar Al-Jamal reflects on HAA’s 34-year journey: “From a 6-square-metre office to a global aid movement”
A central moment of the tour was the keynote reflection by Human Appeal Australia Director, Mr Bashar Al-Jamal, delivered at the Sydney event on 30 November at Waterview, Sydney Olympic Park.
His address took the audience on a journey—from HAA’s humble beginnings to its transformation into a global humanitarian force. In an emotional and detailed recount, he said:
“Alhamdulillah… You’ve been with us since the beginning. When we started Human Appeal Australia in 1991, it was a tiny small office—six square metres. That year we gathered only $25,000. But with your generosity and support, last year alone donations exceeded $40 million.”
“From that little office in 1991, today we have five offices across Australia—in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney—and soon, inshallah, we are expanding to Hobart, Tasmania.”
Mr Al-Jamal spoke of the organisation’s remarkable growth:
“In 34 years, we have been able to gather over $500 million—your donations, your generosity. We invested every dollar to assist our brothers and sisters in need across the world.”
Answering crises across the globe: Bosnia, Kosovo, Lebanon, Indonesia, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, and beyond
In a sweeping historical overview, Mr Al-Jamal described HAA’s continuous presence in some of the world’s most difficult crises:
-
Bosnia (1992–present): “I was in Zagreb in early 1993 to stand with them. We have supported Bosnian families for decades.”
-
Kosovo (1998–1999): “When Kosovans were expelled to Albania, we were there to assist and we continue helping until today.”
-
Indonesia Tsunami (2004–2005): “We stood with them in their darkest moment.”
-
Lebanon (2006 war): “We helped families affected by the conflict.”
-
Syria (2011–present): “We continue supporting our Syrian brothers and sisters through the years of war.”
-
Somalia, Sudan and East Africa: “Since 1991 our first ten orphans were sponsored in Sudan. Today, with your generosity, we are sponsoring over 10,000 orphans.”
He continued:
“We give them education, health, food, and help their mothers to manage their homes. Every year we install around 3,500 water wells, providing clean water to nearly a quarter of a million people.”
Reflecting on seasonal aid programs, Mr Al-Jamal said:
“During Ramadan we feed families, shelter them, give hot meals—and we do this year after year. In Qurbani, I recall 1993 when we slaughtered 1,800 Qurbans. This year, alhamdulillah, we slaughtered over 42,000, benefiting Muslims in 40 destinations.”
Unwavering commitment to Gaza
The director’s voice grew heavy as he reflected on Gaza:
“We have been in Gaza for two decades. But since the last war in October 2023 until today, we have never stopped helping our brothers and sisters in Gaza.”
“You saw the video—tents, sleeping bags, baby milk, clothing, canned meat. Our teams are there inside Gaza and delivering aid from outside.”
He highlighted ongoing campaigns:
-
Back-to-School kits
-
Winter emergency assistance
-
Food, water and shelter programs
“You have always been generous. You never failed us. Tonight once again we ask you to assist—shelter support, water projects, sponsorships. This is a night of generosity.”
