In an attempt to atone for the abuse of his explosive invention’s use for war, violence, and destruction, Alfred Nobel created a legacy to honour peacemakers and those who do good.
But as he rolls in his grave at some of the laureates, he, like most people, did not foresee that successful institutions can attract pariahs who infiltrate, commandeer, and redirect.
In this case, the Nobel Peace Prize now performs empire’s choreography.
María Corina Machado is not the first fascist-aligned US proxy to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Like Aung San Suu Kyi—who defended genocidal military regimes and denied atrocities against the Rohingya—Machado is openly anti-Muslim, a Trumpian tool, and an abuser of the mantra of democracy while aligning with far-right ideologies.
Machado has praised Trump’s foreign policy, supported military strikes against her own compatriots, and endorsed sanctions that deepened Venezuelan suffering. Her laureateship is grooming for violent incendiary regime change.
In a public statement, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on Machado to renounce her support for “European fascism, the Likud Party, and anti-Muslim bigotry,” stating:
“The Nobel Peace Prize should not be awarded to someone who supports fascism, apartheid, and bigotry.”
Trump didn’t get the prize. His Remora wannabe did. And the Nobel committee, is now complicit in any ensuing incendiary violence in Venezuela.
If Machado is given a mandate, she has made her role-model clear: Donald Trump. And Trump has dismantled the facade of American democracy to reveal the ugly face of fascist authoritarianism and vindictive pursuit of critics.
In Trump’s USA, freedom has two meanings:
- Philandering: The personal indulgence of power without consequence.
- The dichotomy of a Tariff-protected free market: A playground for elite wealth-controlling handful of avaricious backers.
The laureate reflects this grotesque redefinition of liberty.
Let’s not be deluded, Trump’s is not democracy, it is a march towards absolute dictatorship.
From the Nobel Foundation to the United Nations, we see enablement of structural violence.
Their rituals: empty awards, hollow resolutions, pacifying but impotent reports are nothing short of attempts to mask complicity. Useful tools in the empire’s repertoire.

Lê Đức Thọ remains the only person to have declined the Nobel Peace Prize.
The Nobel Committee itself, as of 2025, includes members with deep ties to conservative and centrist political circles and are all appointed by political parties.

The current Nobel Prize Committee and their backgrounds.
In an era of escalating climate collapse, Greta Thunberg—who mobilized millions and indicted global elites with forensic clarity—was passed over, most likely for her humanitarian support of Gaza and risking her personal safety to join the Sumud Flotilla, from which she was abducted, incarcerated, tortured and then called a liar by the rogue state.
Her omission reveals the Nobel Committee’s agenda. Saving lives was not deemed worthy, but an incendiary suckerfish who wants to be a Trump Vessel in Venezuela was.
Trump’s posture is one of performance. While praising Machado, he simultaneously escalates deportations to regimes he condemns. Migrants are expelled to Venezuela, Nicaragua, and El Salvador under legally dubious pretexts.
Clearly, the Suckerfish’s win was a suck-up appeasement of Trump and the empire’s decades long desire to install a vassal in Venezuela.
The horror of a wannabee Trump vessel is clearly seen in the handpicked senior Trump appointees, the Senate enquiry performances of Bondi and Patel reveal that to orbit Trump, one must surrender their integrity and soul and rely on the shark to keep protecting them.
And – unfortunately – the Nobel Committee elevated another Suckerfish – a Remora that promises an ugly regime change that whether it succeeds or not – will bring much misery, destruction and death.
A few days ago, I wrote an article illustrating why Thumberg is a more worthy laureate than Trump, today, if I had to choose between Trump and Machado, I’d choose the blustering Shark over the Suckerfish.

A list of some of the more controversial Nobel Laureates.
