The Lebanese Muslim Association is proud to introduce “The Brothers’ Circle,” a unique initiative designed to create a welcoming environment for new Muslims.

This weekly meet-up (which commences on Wednesday, 8 October  and runs for 10 consecutive weeks) offers a platform for connection, support and learning: all while creating a sense of community and brotherhood.

Running from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the LMA Events Hall within the LMA Services Building, adjacent to Lakemba Mosque, “The Brothers’ Circle” is open to males aged 16 and above – new Muslims, lifetime Muslims seeking a refresher and non-Muslims who who are interested in learning about Islam.

These informal gatherings, where brothers can connect over a cup of coffee, are designed to break down barriers, allowing attendees to share their personal journeys, ask questions and build friendships.

Salim Allouche, the Religious Administrator at the LMA, underscored the program’s significance.

“The Brothers’ Circle is a bridge for new Muslims to the wider community,” he explained.

“It will provide a safe and supportive environment where they can learn from respected Mashayekh, seasoned community members and other special guests.”

“The bonds formed here will hopefully be integral to their spiritual and social development as Muslims.”

The program not only offers the companionship of fellow brothers but also the opportunity to learn from esteemed imams from the Sydney Muslim community.

Sheikh Yahya Safi, the esteemed imam of Lakemba Mosque, has agreed to address the initial gathering on Wednesday 8 October.

The presence of respected mashayekh like Sheikh Yahya, along with other special guests who will share their own inspiring stories, promises to enrich the discussions and provide guidance grounded in Islamic teachings.

An added bonus of the meet-up is the inclusion of the communal prayer at the nearby Lakemba Mosque, where participants will walk together to perform Maghrib and Isha prayers.

This shared spiritual experience reinforces the sense of unity and belonging, further embedding new Muslims into the community.

Such programs are crucial for new Muslims navigating their faith journey, as they offer companionship, mentorship and a deeper understanding of Islam.

By creating a space where questions are welcomed and experiences are shared, “The Brothers’ Circle” will not only nurture individual faith but also help to strengthen the community as a whole.

May Allah grant us the strength to remain steadfast in our faith and community endeavours, guiding us towards unity and understanding.
