Meri Pehchan Pakistan Inc proudly hosted its 10th annual flagship event to commemorate Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day in Sydney on Saturday 16 August, bringing together community members, leaders, and dignitaries in a vibrant display of culture, unity, and pride.
The event was honored by the distinguished presence of Consul General of Pakistan Mr. Qamar Zaman, Australian Senator David Shoebridge, Member of Parliament Nathan Hagarty, Deputy Mayor of Liverpool Peter Harley, Prof. Talal Yassine, and Prof. Rahat Munir.
This year’s event was particularly special as it marked the 10-year milestone of Meri Pehchan Pakistan (MPP). To celebrate this achievement, Long Standing Supporter Awards were presented to prominent supporters, sponsors, and dedicated team members who have contributed to MPP’s success over the past decade.
The event program featured a variety of engaging and inspiring activities, including:
- Quiz Competition, Speech Competition & Character Parade – highlighting children’s knowledge of Pakistan’s history and national icons.
- Star Spotlight Segment – introduced in 2024, offering a platform for young emerging talent to showcase their skills, build confidence, and take the first step toward their passions.
- 5th Pakistani Youth Talent Awards – recognizing outstanding achievements of Pakistani youth across 10 categories such as Academics, Sports, Leadership, and Performing Arts. Special thanks to Co-Founders Ms. Daniya Syed and Ms. Haniya Syed for their exceptional work in making this initiative a success.
Continuing its tradition of giving back, this year’s event supported the Education Cause of Shahid Afridi Foundation Australia, helping provide access to education for underprivileged children in Pakistan.
“We are deeply grateful to our community, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who have been the backbone of Meri Pehchan Pakistan’s journey over the last 10 years,” said the MPP President. “Together, we are not only celebrating our heritage but also empowering the next generation.”
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to making this celebration a resounding success.
