I stand defiant
in its way.
Its tentacles grasping
my mind and body
weaving its way towards
my crumbling spirit
SUDDENLY
From within my soulful HEART radiates a halo of hope
emitting a shaft of light
intercepting the shroud of negativity
shattering into fragments of emptiness
and illuminating a breath of positivity
into my spirit.
REKINDLED
My eyes mirror golden sunflowers bouncing in the breeze…..
