Eid-ul-Fitr is an inspiration for Muslims.

Allah has prescribed it for Muslims to be inspired for best practices. I shall cite four best practices below for our reminder insha Allah.

1. Inspiration to be humble: Muslims begin the Eid day with Takbir. They say, “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, laa ilaaha illallah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, wa Lillaahil hamd.” [Meaning: Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, there is no other true GOD except Allah, and all the praises is for HIM]. In this glorification Muslims are inspired to be humble servants of Allah. Holy Quran describes:

“The true servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly, and when the foolish address them improperly, they only respond with peace.”

[Al-Quran 25: 63]

2. Inspiration to establish Salah in life: Then Muslims proceed towards Eid Prayer. The Eid prayer inspires them to establish Salah in their lives in happiness or in difficulties. Allah commands:

“Establish prayer and pay alms-tax. Whatever good you send forth for yourselves, you will ˹certainly˺ find ˹its reward˺ with Allah. Surely Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.”

[Quran 2: 110]

3. Inspiration for Muslim unity: Muslims pray Eid Salah together in congregation. That inspires them to be a united Ummah in the matter of DEEN all the time. Allah commands:

“And hold fast, all of you together by the Rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and do not be divided among yourselves (Being Muslims).”

[Quran 3:103]

4. Inspiration to be kind: Eid-ul-Fitr festival requires the well-off Muslims to offer charity to the poor and needy to share the Eid joy. That inspires Muslims to be compassionate, kind and loving people. Ibn Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) said that Holy Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) had advised:

“Pay the Sadaqah for fasts.”

[Hadith: Abu Dawood, Nasaee]
