Parents in Western Sydney held the 3E Parenting Workshop from 8 February to 22 February, a dynamic three-week program designed to help families engage, encourage, and create a positive learning environment at home.
Held at the Australian Islamic College of Sydney (AICS), the workshop attracted parents from diverse backgrounds, all eager to explore practical strategies to support their children’s education without relying on constant pressure or discipline.
Unlike traditional parenting programs, the 3E Parenting Workshop (Engagement, Environment, Encouragement) takes a hands-on, interactive approach where parents participated in group discussions, role-playing activities, and real-life case studies, allowing them to apply practical strategies at home immediately.
Facilitators highlighted the importance of:
✅ Engagement: Building stronger parent-child communication.
✅ Environment: Creating a dedicated, distraction-free learning environment around them.
✅ Encouragement: Motivating children through positive reinforcement.
“We learnt that shouting and constant nagging doesn’t work,” said Arzoo Naeem, a participant from Mount Druitt. “This workshop helped me understand how small changes—like turning routines into games—can make learning enjoyable for my child.”
The final session concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, attended by community leaders, educators, and local dignitaries where participants received certificates for completing the program, and a special 5-minute video showcased behind-the-scenes moments, parent testimonials, and the overall impact of the workshop.
“Parenting is a journey, and this program has given us lifelong tools to guide our children towards independent learning,” said another parent.
The event also included a networking session and refreshments, allowing parents to share their experiences and discuss ongoing challenges with educators and facilitators.
Due to the overwhelming response, organisers have announced plans for another session in the coming months. Interested parents can register early to secure their spot.
