On Tuesday 17 September 2024, students, parents and special guests gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our Year 12 students at the Renaissance Lidcombe, marking the culmination of their journey at Al Noori Muslim School. The ceremony was a beautiful reflection of the hard work, perseverance, and dedication of the Class of 2024, supported by their families and teachers throughout their school years.
The evening was made even more memorable by the inspiring speech delivered by the Chairman of the Board, Mr Fawaz Sankari, who reminded all the guests of the significance of this milestone not only for the students but for the entire Al Noori community.
In his address, Mr Sankari congratulated the graduates, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.

“This moment is a testament to your diligence, commitment, and perseverance. You have navigated the complexities of school life, matured, and now stand on the brink of a new journey,” he said.
The Chairman also highlighted the invaluable contributions of parents and teachers, emphasising their pivotal role in shaping the graduates into the exceptional young adults they are today.
“Let us take a moment to reflect on and express our deep gratitude to both your teachers and parents, for it is through their support and encouragement that you have reached this milestone. Honour them by carrying forward the lessons they have taught you,” Mr Sankari said.

As the Class of 2024 steps into the next chapter of their lives, the Chairman offered important advice on navigating an ever-evolving world, especially in the age of rapid technological advancements. He spoke about the growing influence of artificial intelligence and how the future will demand adaptability, innovation, and strong ethical grounding.
“The problems of tomorrow will require innovative solutions, creative thinking, and deep belief. But it will be your wisdom, ethics, and humanity that will ensure these technologies are used for the greater good,” Mr Sankari said.
He also reminded students to carry with them the Islamic values they have learned at Al Noori, which will continue to guide them throughout their lives. Quoting from the Quran, Mr Sankari offered the graduates reassurance in times of difficulty:
“Allah tells us in the Quran, ‘Indeed, with hardship comes ease’ (Quran 94:6). Be patient, trust in Allah’s wisdom, and know that with every challenge comes a path forward.”

The ceremony continued with the presentation of awards to students who excelled both academically and in their character. Special recognition was given to those who demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and resilience.
The prestigious Dux of the Year Award was presented to Iyaad Ahmed, a student whose outstanding academic achievements inspired his peers.
The School Captains delivered moving speeches, reflecting on the shared experiences of the graduating class, and expressing gratitude to the teachers and parents who supported them.
They urged their classmates to hold onto the lessons and values they have acquired, saying, “We leave here today as stronger, more confident individuals, ready to take on whatever lies ahead.”
A particularly touching moment came when the Class of 2024 presented a $1,100 donation to charity, supporting Palestinian victims of war. This act of generosity reflected the values of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility that have been instilled in them during their time at Al Noori.
The Chairman’s speech resonated throughout the event, reminding the graduates that their journey of learning has only just begun. His words of wisdom highlighted the importance of continued curiosity, resilience, and service to others as they move forward into adulthood.
“Your education is not confined to the school or university walls—it continues in the world outside. Be curious, be open-minded, and be prepared to learn from every experience,” Mr Sankari said.
The evening concluded with a heartwarming video showcasing the graduates’ journey from their early days in kindergarten to their final days in Year 12, leaving many in the audience with teary eyes and proud smiles.
As the Class of 2024 embarks on their next chapter, we wish them every success in their future endeavours. The graduates were reminded to always keep faith in Allah and rely on the strength of their deen as they face the opportunities and challenges ahead.
