The Muslim League of NSW (MLNSW) organised daily Iftar dinners throughout the month of Ramadan 1445/2024 at the Green Valley mosque in South-West-Sydney followed by regular taraweeh prayers attended by almost 700 people led by Mufti Abdul Kareem and Hafiz Fadhlullah Bashshaar Ayub.

“We have witnessed a record number of mussallees this year and since Covid, the numbers have been growing steadily. This is a testament of success and unity spread across various cultural backgrounds”, said MLNSW President, Mr Mohammed Illyas.

He commended the collaborative effort of the League officials, youth and sports representatives and members for the highly successful programs during the fasting month of Ramadan, culminating in Eid on Thursday 11 April 2024.

While greeting the congregation on Eid day, Mr Ilyas said, “The essential lesson of Eid-ul-Fitr is laden with shunning all differences between us. This special occasion exhorts us to promote harmony with the aim to inculcate love and affection for each other.”

“Let us not forget our brothers and sisters who are enduring pain, suffering and oppression in Palestine (Gaza), Kashmir, Syria, Uyghur and many more places worldwide. Muslim League NSW has partnered with local and global organisations to collect donations and support the needy. Along this, we have held congregational dua at the masjid and continue to pray that Allah (s) make it easy for Ummah and remove all the burden, hardship and oppression,” he concluded.
