Hundreds of members of the local community from various cultures attended the 18th Harmony Day celebration organised by the Canterbury Bankstown Harmony Group and Riverwood Community Centre at Riverwood Community Centre on Thursday 21 March  2024, to celebrate diversity, inclusiveness, respect, and belonging for all members of the local community.

The event’s focus was on community engagement, inclusiveness, celebration of diversity, dignity, and belonging.

The celebration included a vibrant display of multicultural music and traditional dance performances from Punchbowl Boys High School, Riverwood Public School Choir, Beverly Hills Girls High School singing performance, and other performances from Greek, Vietnamese, Chinese, Bangladesh, and Lebanese cultures, sharing their rich heritage and traditions with the community.

The founder and President of the CB Harmony Group, Clr Saleh, said the Harmony Festival and the theme were a great expression of the city.

“We come from many different backgrounds, but we are one community. This annual celebration attracts hundreds of people and is always a fun day for the whole family,” Cr Saleh said. “The theme this year, Everyone Belongs, is important as we acknowledge our diversity and the significant contribution of Australians from all different backgrounds.”
