On Sunday 20 September 2026, MUHSEN Australia held their inaugural Created with Purpose conference with over 300 people in attendance at the Hyatt Place Melbourne, Essendon Fields.

This one special day brought the Muslim disability community together to hear different voices, stories, make connections and moments that reminded us that every person is created with purpose.

The inaugural conference for the Muslim disability community was filled with the voices of those living with disabilities, as well as carers and family members.

The following people deserved to be thanked for their incredible contributions: MC Mr Faraz Nomani, The Welcome to Country by Uncle Andrew Gardiner, the Quran recitation by Mr Ali Hawari and two Islamic reflections by Sheikh Abdulla Hawari and Sheikh Alaa Elzokm.

There were a number of panels and keynote speeches including the MUHSEN Panel with Ms Joohi Tahir (CEO/Co-Founder) from the United States alongside the MUHSEN Australia team: Ms Adriana Ridzwan, Ms Fatma Hussein, Ms Sara Kablaoui & Ms Selima Ymer who shared their experiences, passion and vision for building a more inclusive Muslim community.
Keynote Speakers Ms Anaab Rooble and Ms Reema El Qassem each brought a powerful and deeply meaningful perspective to the conversation around disability inclusion.

The Voices of Impact speakers Ms Whbet Beyan, Mr Kasum Ameti, Ms Aya Nahas and Ms Husna Amani all shared their heartfelt perspectives and reminding that meaningful inclusion begins with listening to the people and families who lives these experiences every day.
Combined with 50 incredible volunteers, Auslan interpreters, marketplace stalls, dedicated prayer spaces, inclusive sporting activities and a sensory room, the Created with Purpose Conference was truly a celebration of inclusion, accessibility and belonging.
We came together to listen, learn and connect.
We left reminded that inclusion is not an extra, it is part of creating communities where everyone belongs.
