Anticipation is in the air as the Lebanese Muslim Association gears up for its much-awaited second annual Australian Muslim Community Golf Tournament on Saturday 13 December at the picturesque Brighton Lakes Golf Course in Moorebank, in south-west Sydney.
With less than two weeks left before the tournament, the community’s response has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting a strong interest in what promises to be a spectacular event.
Organised under the banner of the LMA’s charity arm, Feed The World, the Golf Day is drawing attention from golf enthusiasts throughout Sydney’s Muslim community.
The registration numbers have been impressive, with only a few spots still available for male golfers aged 16 and above.
Participants can join the Ambrose format tournament individually for $120, or as part of a team of four for $450.
The LMA’s golf committee is ready to assist with team placements to ensure a seamless experience for all.
The entry fee covers green fees, a golf cart and access to an exclusive post-event players’ gathering, which will feature a prize presentation for the winners, a charity auction and a light meal.
Tournament officials are optimistic about reaching a capacity field of 120 players, equating to 30 teams.
The event will kick off with a ‘Shotgun Start’ at 1:30 PM, following the Dhuhur Prayer on the greens shortly after 1:00 PM.
“Brighton Lakes has been incredibly accommodating again this year, closing the course to club members and the public to honour the specific needs of the Muslim community for the day, and we are extremely grateful to the Club’s board and management for this,” LMA spokesman Hajj Gamel Kheir told AMUST.
“And of course, we’re thrilled by the overall enthusiasm of the community towards the event again this year,” he added.

The tournament and fundraiser offer a unique opportunity for players to contribute to a meaningful cause while enjoying a memorable day.
AMUST is proud to be the media partner for this prestigious event, building on the newspaper’s support of the recent National Mosque Open Day at Lakemba Mosque.
The LMA and Feed The World would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the generous sponsors who have pledged their support for this event: Fettayleh Foods, Salaam, Macquarie Accountants, Paragon Estate Agents, Kheir Lawyers, MK Allan Lawyers, The Back Specialist, Green Flow Pest Control, Starchem Pharmacy, The Tax Factor, Open Path Care Services, ShredRight PL, Tradies Only and Condell Park Smash Repairs.
With such a strong backing and enthusiastic participation, the second LMA Golf Day is set to be a remarkable event that strengthens community bonds in addition to supporting those in need.
