Acknowledging your uniqueness and living authentically requires you to know how you feel about yourself, how much you respect yourself, how much you care about yourself, and how grateful you feel about your life.

And most importantly, it is how you practice self-kindness, self-compassion, and self-forgiveness on a daily basis.

There is no one else exactly like you in the world. You are a unique being, with your own unique gifts with which to serve this world.

Confidence is not about being arrogant about your abilities nor disregarding your abilities, but rather being grateful for your abilities and honing them to become a better version of yourself than you were yesterday.

Confidence comes from daily efforts of self-transformation.

Confidence is affected when you fail to devote time for self-care. Lack of self-care can bring about negative thoughts about the future based on your fears. It can lead you to eat unhealthy foods and drink unhealthy beverages. You will begin to lose sleep quality and  find it difficult to regulate your emotions, which can lead to angry outbursts.

Caring for yourself is not an option – it is a vital necessity. Self-care starts with a positive mind. A positive mind is a result of awareness. When you are aware of your habits, your thought patterns, and your programmed reactions to life ’s triggers, you are able to transform yourself whereby you are no longer living life on a default mode but rather living a life of mindful actions, joy, compassion, and gratitude for the abundance Allah has bestowed upon us.

When you use words like: “I am angry ” , “I am fat” , “I am confused” , “I am hungry ” and so on, what you are really saying is that your physical body is angry or fat or confused or hungry.

Your energy force, the Essential Self, within you, “I” , is free from anger, hunger, confusion, or fat. When the Essential Self is ignored for too long, the Physical Self begins to show negative symptoms such as anger, confusion, anxiety, fear, accumulation of abdominal fat, lack of sleep, fatigue, worry, increased blood pressure and shallow breathing, to name a few.

A great affirmation to repeat to yourself is: I am neither above nor beneath another.

Daily practice to boost self-confidence and self-worth:

  • Write down all the things about you that are your strengths
  • Write down all the reasons why you are worth it
  • Write down all the reasons why you approve of yourself
  • Write down all the things you do to bring happiness into your life
  • Write down all the reasons why you like yourself
  • Write down all the things you do to bring joy to others
  • Write down all the reasons why you believe in yourself
  • Write down what you are doing every day to improve yourself
  • Write down all the reasons you feel you deserve a joyful life
  • Write down all the reasons you know you have what it takes to make good decisions for your life
  • Write down why you value yourself.
