Hundreds of young Muslims, families, scholars, professionals, and community leaders gathered in Sydney on Sunday 26 July 2026 at the Bryan Brown Theatre and Function Centre in Bankstown for NEXT25: A Muslim Youth Summit.

Organised by the Islamic Practice and Dawah Circle (IPDC) NSW, the summit celebrated 25 years of dawah, community service, and youth development under the theme “Built on 25. Bound for More.”

The programme commenced with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Sheikh Abu Hurayra, Imam of St Marys Mosque and Secretary of ANIC.

The summit was officially opened by Dr Moniruzzaman, Central President of IPDC, who praised Allah for blessing the organisation with 25 years of successful service to the Muslim community.

He thanked scholars, speakers, volunteers, partner organisations, and community members for their support, and encouraged young Muslims to dedicate their talents and efforts to the service of Islam and humanity.

Hon Jihad Dib, Minister for NSW Customer Service and Digital Government receiving IPDC Crest from the IPDC Central President Dr Moniruzzaman.

During his address Hon Jihad Dib, the NSW Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government, expressed his deep concerns regarding the rise of ‘Muslim-hate’ in Australia.

He encourages young Muslim Australians to embrace both their faith and their national identity, emphasising that the two are fully compatible.

To belong and contribute, he noted, no one should feel forced to change who they are.

Inspiring Keynote Sessions

Participants benefited from a series of presentations delivered by respected Islamic scholars and community leaders.

Sheikh Yahya Ibrahim reminded attendees of the importance of strengthening their relationship with Allah, maintaining Islamic values, and serving as positive ambassadors of Islam through character and community service.

Ahmad Bassal addressed the opportunities and challenges of the digital age, encouraging young Muslims to engage responsibly with social media and confidently share authentic Muslim narratives.

Ustadh Waseem Razvi inspired participants to discover their purpose, develop resilience, and cultivate leadership qualities rooted in faith.

Sheikh Bilal Dannoun delivered The Marriage Blueprint, offering practical Islamic guidance on marriage preparation, communication, Islamic boundaries, and building relationships based on faith, respect, and responsibility.

Ramia Sultan spoke about contemporary social and legal challenges facing Australian Muslims, encouraging young people to become informed, engaged, and confident citizens while upholding Islamic values.

Workshops and Family Activities

The summit also featured practical workshops on financial literacy, halal investing, career development, mentorship, leadership, marriage preparation, media engagement, and community building.

The IPDC Student Wing conducted a popular session on career development, employment pathways, and professional networking, providing valuable guidance for students preparing to enter the workforce.

The highlight of the event was the vibrant Little Muslims Hub, where children and families enjoyed a range of educational and interactive activities throughout the day.

Following the successful conclusion of NEXT25, Kamal Mahmud, President of IPDC NSW, thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the summit.

As IPDC celebrates 25 years of service, NEXT25 stands as a testament to its ongoing commitment to nurturing future generations of confident, knowledgeable, and community-minded Muslims.
