ICMG Youth Sydney has once again brought the community together for a day of sport, brotherhood and charity, hosting the 6th annual Hasene Shield Oztag Tournament at Coleman Park, Lidcombe, on Sunday 15 February.
The 2026 Hasene Shield drew around 80-90 participants for what organisers described as a beautiful and uplifting event.
Players from different areas came together not only to showcase their Oztag skills, but to connect, strengthen friendships and enjoy healthy competition in a welcoming Islamic environment.
Importantly, the tournament raised sufficient funds for approximately 90 Hasene Food Packages.
Each package will feed a needy family of four for the entire 30 days of Ramadan, turning a day of sport into a month of relief and dignity for families in need.

The 6th Hasene Shield attracted around 90 players.
Spokesman Br Emir Davun said the event reflected the organisation’s long-standing commitment to service.
“We are extremely grateful for everyone’s contributions and proud to be part of a project that gives back in such a meaningful way,” he told AMUST.
“Seeing so many brothers unite for a good cause, while strengthening ties of friendship, is what the Hasene Shield is all about.”
High profile Dawah figure Musa Stranger, who has a five figure Instagram following especially among the Polynesian/Revert communities, attended the event for the first time and was full of praise for the concept.
Br Musa, whose journey to Islam and subsequent work in the Dawah field was featured in the February edition of AMUST, commented: “What an awesome event….compliments to ICMG and Hasene on a great initiative.”

Coleman Park at Lidcombe in southwest Sydney was the venue for this year’s Hasene Shield.
Congratulations to the winning team, BTA, who claimed this year’s title after an exciting series of matches (see main photo).
As in previous years, the success of the Hasene Shield was made possible by dedicated volunteers and the generous support of sponsors, including Irfan College, Honeycube Australia, Epic Management Solutions, Hope And Care, True Blue Tree Lopping, Crescent Guard and Auburn Redbacks Football Club.
Their ongoing assistance exemplifies the spirit of giving and community partnership that continues to define this tournament, year after year.
Guided by the Quran and Sunnah, ICMG remains committed to its moral responsibility of giving back, supporting the needy and promoting good within the wider community through Hasene, its global charity.

The Hasene Shield had a group of excellent sponsors again this year. Support the companies that support your community!
