Sunday 14 December attack in Bondi is a vile and cowardly act of violence that must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

It is an assault not only on innocent people going about their lives, but on the very values that hold our society together.

There is no grievance, no ideology, no justification ever for terrorising civilians. Whoever carried this out chose hatred over humanity, cruelty over conscience.

That choice must be named for what it is: criminal, inhuman, and utterly unacceptable.

Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all those traumatised by this attack.

We stand in solidarity with the Bondi community and with first responders who ran toward danger to protect others.

At times like this, we reject fear, scapegoating, and division. We call for justice, accountability, and unity, firmly, calmly, and without compromise.

Violence will not define us. We will not be intimidated. We stand together, resolute, and unafraid.

We specially stand in solidarity with our Jewish community where the start of the festival of Hanukkah has been tarnished by this terrible attack and our sympathies and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones at this crucial time.
