Under the inspiring theme “Chipping in for Change,” the Lebanese Muslim Association/Feed the World Golf Day is set to return on Saturday 13 December at the scenic Brighton Lakes Golf Course in Moorebank.

The event not only promises a day of engaging golf but also an excellent opportunity to support vulnerable communities across the globe.

The inaugural 2024 tournament made waves as Australia’s first Muslim golf event, drawing 80 participants and amassing a remarkable $150,000 for Feed The World’s humanitarian efforts in trouble spots across the globe, including Gaza.

This groundbreaking initiative showcased the Muslim community’s generosity and unity, setting the stage for another successful year.

Buoyed by last year’s achievements, organisers aim to increase participation to 120 players for the 2025 event.

The tournament will maintain the popular 4-Ball Ambrose format, with tee-off following Dhuhr prayers on the greens, as was the case last year.

Open to males aged 16 and over, individual players can also join and they will be placed into teams by the organisers.

The day will conclude with a brief but lively reception next to the golf course, featuring presentations to winning teams and a streamlined fundraiser to support Feed the World’s essential work.

The LMA has been singing the praises of the Brighton Lakes Golf Club for creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for Muslim participants.

Chief event organiser Salim Allouche, LMA Religious and Events Administrator, expressed his enthusiasm.

“Brighton Lakes Golf Club have been amazing since we first approached them prior to last year’s event.”

“The success of that first Golf Day exceeded all expectations and we look forward to bringing our community together again on 13 December for another memorable day that will help Feed the World continue its vital work overseas.”

Ali Bassal, part of the  organising committee which also includes Salim Allouche, Nasser Nahlous, Dr Tarek Sari, Bill Chemeisse and this writer,  shared his excitement.

“I am a very keen golfer and can’t wait for the day.”

“It is also really fulfilling to be part of the organising team; they are a great bunch of brothers with a diversity of ideas which I’m sure will make for a bigger and better Golf Day this year.”

Further information on player registration and sponsorship opportunities is available from the LMA’s official platforms.

All roads will be leading to Brighton Lakes for Muslim golfers on Saturday 13 December 2025.
