The Macarthur Multicultural Children’s Festival 2025, held on Sunday 4 May 20256 at Koshigaya Park, Campbelltown, brought together families from many backgrounds in a joyful celebration of culture, community, and diversity.
Wearing traditional attire and carrying Pakistani flags, families and children gathered to join the Cultural Parade, walking together in a peaceful display of cultural identity.
It was a simple but meaningful moment, showing how proud many are of their roots, while being equally proud to call Australia home.
The Pakistani community also contributed to the stage segment of the festival, with a short performance by children and youth, sharing traditional music and dance.
These performances were prepared with the help of dedicated parents and volunteers, aiming to give children an opportunity to express themselves and stay connected to their heritage.
PakOz, in collaboration with Young Innovators Australia (YIA), also hosted a stall offering interactive activities for children and information for families.
A popular feature was the festival passport activity, where children could collect stamps by visiting different cultural stalls, learning about others in a fun, hands-on way.
The atmosphere throughout the day was one of learning, respect, and celebration. The spirit of participation and togetherness stood out.
It was encouraging to see youth actively involved and community members supporting each other across generations.
PakOz is grateful to the festival organisers, including Brian Laul and the local council team, for providing a platform where all cultures could be represented.
Events like these remind us of the value of community-led efforts and how cultural sharing helps build stronger, more connected neighbourhoods.
As families packed up towards the end of the day, there was a shared sense of joy, not only from what was performed or displayed, but from the simple act of coming together in harmony.
