Australia won the T20I series 3-0 with a resounding performance, crushing Pakistan in the third  match held on Monday 18 November in Hobart, mainly helped by Stoinis’ all-around performance and Zampa’s skill with the ball.

Marcus Stoinis’s spectacular 61 not out, of just 27 balls in the final game, with some spectacular sixes, saw Australia flying past Pakistan. Spencer Johnson and others made significant breakthroughs, but Zampa and Stoinis were the mainstays with game-winning contributions.

The Australians were able to outperform Pakistan and continue to dominate them in T20 cricket thanks to home conditions. Due to their persistent struggles, Pakistan was unable to challenge Australia’s utter dominance in the series.

The last game in Hobart underlined how the entire series went for Pakistan. After being asked to bat first, Pakistan had a strong start before collapsing catastrophically to score just 117 runs in 18.1 overs.

The Australian bowling assault was spearheaded by star spinner Adam Zampa, who took significant wickets, which included captain Babar Azam.

The batting line-up frequently faltered, much like Haris Rauf’s valiant efforts, but their bowlers occasionally showed off, not without the payment of several dropped catches, ranging through all three matches.

Pakistan’s ultra-conservative strategy in the second match on a tough Sydney surface left them with a mountain to climb in the run-chase, as they lost by 13 runs in the second T20. Their problems were made worse by missed opportunities and dropped catches.

Inglis praised team effort for the T20I series, reflecting on captaincy after Australia’s win over Pakistan saying, “The energy in the group was brilliant the whole week, the way we carried the momentum.”

Pakistan’s T20I strategy and consistency in high-pressure matches, particularly in challenging international conditions, was called into doubt by this series’ loss.

Prior to upcoming international matches, this also emphasises the necessity of Pakistan in addressing middle-order collapses and raising fielding standards.

The Australians will be much more confident now going into the upcoming Border-Gavaskar test series against India starting on Friday 22 November 2024.
