Lebanese Muslim Association, Australia’s, owner of the iconic Lakemba Mosque will launch a new 10-week course introducing attendees to the basics of Islam on Monday 2 September.
The free course, presented by the LMA’s Azhar Australia, is designed for men and women aged 18 and over.
Whether participants are non-Muslim curious about Islam, recent converts seeking guidance, or lifelong Muslims wanting to solidify their understanding, this program provides a supportive environment for learning.
The structured course covers core aspects of the Islamic faith, offering insights into key topics like the Five Pillars of Islam, the life of Prophet Muhammad (s) and foundational principles of Islamic belief and practice.
Participants will engage with a curriculum that balances theological knowledge with practical advice for integrating Islam into daily life.
LMA’s Religious Affairs Administrator, Salim Allouche, expressed great enthusiasm about the program.
“The course offers a welcoming environment where participants can learn and ask questions about Islam, regardless of their current level of knowledge,” Mr Allouche said.
The new course will be facilitated by Sheikh Mohammad Trad, pictured here delivering a lesson at Lakemba Mosque earlier in the year.
“A lot of time has been dedicated to putting this course together, and we are delighted that Sheikh Mohammad Trad has agreed to be the main facilitator.”
Sheikh Mohammad, known for his friendly and engaging speaking style – in addition to his great knowledge – will guide students through each topic in a way that is both informative and relatable.
