Message from the Premier of New South Wales, Minister of Western Sydney
Eid al Adha

It is a pleasure to send my greetings to Australasian Muslim Times readers during this auspicious time of Eid al Adha.

Eid al Adha is one of the most important festivals on the Islamic calendar and recalls Abraham’s test of obedience after being ordered to sacrifice his son.

This is a time of faith, prayer and charity, as the sacrificial feast feeds both the family and the needy.

We are fortunate to live in a harmonious society and the NSW Government remains committed to maintaining peace in our multicultural society and I welcome initiatives from the State’s Muslim community that promote interfaith understanding.

On behalf of the NSW Government, it is my pleasure to extend best wishes to all Australians marking Eid al Adha.

Eid Mubarak.
