In this workshop we will talk about this massive elephant in the community and will cover:
– The historical and Islamic perspectives of psychiatry and mental health
– Psychiatric treatment and treatment from an Islamic perspective
– Myths and facts around mental health and mental illnesses
– Psychosis vs jinn
– The structure of mental health services in Australia
– Common psychiatric conditions and the ability to identify them
– How to provide general support and advice to affected community members
– Activating your fitrah potential for better mental health
– How you can discover your inherent psychiatric skills and learn other simple therapeutic interventions that can be utilised for self-help, help of others
Target Audience:
General public, mothers, fathers, community leaders, sheikhs, people involved in daw’ah, health and mental health professionals who are seeking overview of psychiatry practice from an Islamic perspective and available services on mental health services in Australia.
