Media articles 29th August 2014    Armed Robbery Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery of a Newsagent at the corner of Dublin Street and Jane Street Smithfield About 5.35am (Thursday 28/08/2014), a 42 years male shop attendant has just opened for business when he was threatened with black pistols by 2 males. The men demanded for cash throwing a bag over the counter. The men fled the scene with a small amount of cash, into Jane Street down an alley way that leads into Lindsay Avenue.Advertisements Both men were wearing black balaclavas at the time of the incident. One of men was described between 165-170cm tall, skinny build, wearing yellow fluoro jumper and dark tracksuit pants. The second male person was described between 170-175cm tall, medium build, wearing yellow fluoro jumper and grey tracksuit pants.   House fire –Bossley Park Three police officers from Fairfield Police were taken to Hospital following a suspicious house fire in Bossley Park. Emergency services were called to Stromlo Street, just before midnight on Saturday 23rd August 2014, where they found the house well alight. The fire was extinguished however sustained damage to the front. A woman, believed to be aged in her 60’s was rescued from the home by three police officers. The women and three officers were all taken to Liverpool Hospital suffering smoke inhalation where they received treatment....
