The Australian Business Summit Council Inc. hosted its annual Media Conference and Dinner at Aqua Luna Waterfront Dining, Drummoyne, NSW on Monday 20 April 2026, welcoming nearly one hundred and seventy attendees for an evening highlighting Australia’s global business, trade and investment engagement.

This prestigious event brought together a distinguished group of diplomatic and business leaders, including H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban (Ambassador of Thailand), H.E. Mr. Diego Felipe Cadena Montenegro (Ambassador of Colombia), and H.E. Ms. Doris Adzo Denyo Brese (High Commissioner of Ghana), alongside consuls general and representatives from numerous countries. Prominent business figures, academics, professionals, and members of the multicultural media were also in attendance.

ABSC Inc. President Dr. Frank Alafaci PhD described the evening as both a celebration of established relationships and a preview of the forthcoming EKONOMOS, Issue 7, 2026. He emphasised the Council’s role as a platform where diplomacy and enterprise intersect, fostering meaningful dialogue and long-term partnerships.

The Media Conference and Dinner centred on promoting the seventh issue of EKONOMOS, which features articles from twenty-eight contributors across diplomacy, business, academia and government, serving as a mouthpiece for diverse perspectives and reflecting a shared commitment to advancing economic relations.

Its official program featured three keynote addresses offering insights into economic engagement. Ambassador Sriratanaban highlighted opportunities to strengthen Thai–Australian trade and investment ties. Ambassador Cadena Montenegro discussed Colombia’s growing international positioning and the importance of multilateral cooperation and sustainable development. Entrepreneur Mr. Garry Simonian explored the transformative impact of digital innovation and emerging technologies on business and commerce.

These presentations were followed by an interactive panel discussion moderated by the ABSC Inc. President, encouraging audience participation and fostering a dynamic exchange of views in a constructive, non-political environment.

The success of the evening was supported by sponsors including Alliance Project Group, Arab Bank Australia Ltd, Symphonic Management Consulting, Trade Window, Serenade Leather, Blue River Wines, EZ Marketing Australia and DRS ABCD First Aid Training, reflecting strong industry confidence in the ABSC Inc.’s mission.

In closing, the ABSC Inc. President thanked the Board of Directors and acknowledged the collective effort behind the occasion, with special recognition given to the Secretary Mrs. Sylvia Alafaci for her leadership and coordination, as well as the Aqua Luna Waterfront Dining events management team led by Ms. Anna Finini.

The Media Conference and Dinner once again demonstrated the ABSC Inc.’s role in connecting diplomacy, business and the wider community, strengthening international relationships and promoting Australia as a globally engaged economy. Attention now turns to the Annual Gala Dinner on Friday 29 May 2026, where EKONOMOS, Issue 7, 2026 will be formally launched.
