Haji Abdullah Magar, the founder of the Perth based Australian Islamic College (AIC), one of the first Islamic Schools founded in Australia during the 1980’s, passed away on Monday night 6 April while the Janaza prayers were held at AIC in Kewdale and burial at Guildford Cemetery on Tuesday 7 April 2026.

Haji Abdallah Saad Magar was a man of remarkable foresight and unwavering commitment to education, faith, and community development. His vision for establishing an institution that would nurture both academic excellence and strong Islamic values laid the foundation for what has become one of the most respected educational institutions in Western Australia.
For over 50 years, his service to Islam, education, and humanity was nothing short of remarkable transforming lives, uplifting communities, and shaping the future of countless young Muslims. From humble beginnings of just 50 students he laid the foundation of Australian Islamic College today benefiting over 6000 students across multiple campuses.

From selling his own home to keep the school alive during its toughest years, to motivating students and staff with his visionary leadership, his impact continues to resonate today,” Mr Khan said.
Driven by a deep sense of responsibility towards future generations, Haji Abdallah Magar dedicated his life to creating opportunities for young minds to grow in an environment that harmonizes deen and dunya. His efforts were not limited to infrastructure alone; he instilled a culture of integrity, discipline, and compassion—values that continue to guide the college today.
