The Lebanese Muslim Association will host its first ever Iftar exclusively for new Muslims on Monday 9 March, marking another milestone in the Association’s expanding Dawah initiatives.
The free event, open to both new Muslim (ie, convert/revert) brothers and sisters, will be held from 7:00pm in the LMA Hall within the Association’s services building next to Lakemba Mosque.
Guests will enjoy a buffet dinner, hear from guest speakers and have the opportunity to pray Taraweeh at the neighbouring, iconic Lakemba Mosque.
Seating will be segregated, while registration is essential for catering purposes.
The initiative follows the success of the LMA’s inaugural “The Brothers’ Circle” program, a 10-week pilot launched in October 2025 to support new Muslim brothers.
LMA Secretary and Spokesman Hajj Gamel Kheir, a strong advocate for the Association’s renewed focus on structured Dawah programs, said the Iftar is a natural progression.

Hajj Gamel Kheir has been a major driving force behind the LMA’s renewed focus on Dawah programs.
“The Brothers’ Circle showed us just how important safe, welcoming spaces are for new Muslims,” Mr Kheir said.
“We saw brothers travel long distances each week because they were hungry not just for knowledge, but for connection.”
He said the upcoming Iftar builds on that foundation.
“Ramadan is the perfect time to bring our new brothers and sisters together and an Iftar dedicated to them sends a clear message: you belong, and this community stands with you.”
New Muslim influencer Musa Stranger, who has a massive Instagram following, is assisting in promoting the event and helping ensure it reaches those who may benefit most.
Mr Kheir said the collaboration reflects a broader strategy.

High profile new Muslim influencer Br Musa Stranger.
“When respected voices like Br Musa support initiatives like this, it amplifies the impact.”
The third week of Ramadan 2026 will be an especially busy time for the LMA team, with the Association’s Grand Community open air Iftar scheduled four days after the new Muslims’ Iftar.
