On Wednesday 14 May 2025, the halls of Australian International Islamic College (AIIC) Brisbane resonated with hope, ambition, and pride as it hosted the inaugural ACDP Professionals Day — an initiative by the Australian Community Development Program (ACDP) that is fast becoming a beacon for youth empowerment in Australia.
This landmark event sets a new standard for student empowerment where 17 accomplished professionals from 8 major industries come together under one roof — not to showcase resumes, but to ignite futures.
From Government and Law to Medicine, Engineering, Retail, Business, and IT, these trailblazers — each of them deeply rooted in the same communities our students come from — showed what is possible when will meets opportunity.
The students of Years 10, 11 and 12 weren’t just passive observers. They were central to the day — asking questions, seeking guidance, and most importantly, seeing themselves reflected in the success stories that stood before them. This wasn’t a career expo.
This was a movement — a declaration that our youth belong in every corner of Australia’s professional landscape.
The event unfolded in two transformative segments:
🔹 “My Journey, My Drive” — where professionals candidly shared their paths, struggles, and purpose. These were not polished speeches; they were raw, real, and profoundly relatable.
🔹 Breakout Sessions — where students gathered in small groups with professionals to dig deeper. Questions flowed, insights landed, and connections were made. Students learned about pathways into the workforce as early as Year 10, especially in public sector careers, and received priceless guidance on job applications, interviews, and real-world expectations.
What truly sets ACDP apart is its commitment to actionable tools. The event featured a demonstration of ACDP’s AI-powered career toolkit — a cutting-edge solution that supports students through CV building, personalised cover letters, interview prep and more.
In a world increasingly shaped by technology, ACDP is not just preparing students for the future — it’s equipping them to lead it.
The resounding success of the event could not have been possible without the visionary leadership of AIIC. Their openness, encouragement, and foresight in embracing such a powerful initiative must be commended.
ACDP extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire AIIC leadership and staff for being pioneers in what we believe should become a national model of student engagement.
